Breast Cancer is becoming more and more popular within organizations as a means of creating a positive impact on the community in awareness and concern. The NFL supports breast cancer awareness and created a campaign with pink jerseys and accessories for football. Players, coaches and referees are seen wearing pink towels, shows, and gloves in games throughout the month of February. Jerseys are also available to the public and money made from these profits are partially donated to the American Cancer Society.Last year, the NFL was able to donate $4.5 million to the ACS.
Within the community this year will mark the 15th anniversary of Zeta Tau Alpha’s ThinkPink Ribbon distribution fan outreach program, which has donated over 5 million pink ribbons to NFL fans at games around the nation. The NFL will have videos of players encouraging awareness within the female community and shows concern for all women over 40 that are prone.
